Letter from Fr. Roux of Marian Movement of Priests

The Marian Movement of Priests National Headquarters Post Office Box 8, Saint Francis, Maine 04774-0008

To: All members of the Marian Movement of Priests From: Rev. Albert G. Roux, National Director Date: February 22, 2001 - Feast of the Chair of Peter Re: The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

"I confirm to you that by the great jubilee of the year two thousand, there will take place the triumph of my Immaculate Heart, which I foretold to you at Fatima, and this will come to pass with the return of Jesus in glory, to establish his reign in the world. " (532i, Dec. 5,1994)

Since the closing of the Jubilee Year, the interpretation of the above quoted prophecy has proven problematic for many. Those of us who thought it meant that Jesus would return in glory were left disappointed and confused, and this has elicited numerous phone calls, emails and letters asking for clarification of Our Lady's words. Enclosed with this statement are two letters from Fr. Gobbi in which he gives his present understanding of what these words might mean. He admits that the confusion stems from the lack of a clear understanding of the meanings of some of the words in the prophecy; namely, the word "per" which was translated into English as "by", and also the word "triumph" itself Is our comprehension of these words the same as what Our Lady is actually saying?

During these past weeks since the end of the Jubilee Year, have been re-reading some of Fr-Gobbi's writings, especially an inter-view which he gave in August 1999.

ed. When asked about the triumph, he answer

"...Our Lady does not build this triumph of God all at once from one evening to the following morning, almost like a magical trick ... Our Lady builds the triumph of her Immaculate Heart during these times, in these years in which Satan has built his own. In order to build his triumph, Satan has formed the cohort of the most powerful at every level of diabolical and masonic forces ... Our Lady, being the little servant of the Lord, builds her cohort in silence, and she hides it for now in every part of the world. It is formed by the littlest ones, by the poorest - those who say 'yes' and who live for the glory of God .... Our Lady impresses her spirit within her little children. This is where her Immaculate Heart triumphs. For now she keeps it hidden. When the time will come - and for me it is the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 - she will lift her mantle, and a cohort formed in every part of the world will be seen: her Marian Movement of Priests formed by the bishops, the priests and the faithful. At that moment, she will say:

'This is the triumph of my Immaculate Heart in the world.' " (Fr. Gobbi, August 4, 1999)

It is significant to note that Fr. Gobbi used the words "for me." Is this a sign that perhaps, he too, is not sure of the precise meaning of the prophecy which Our Lady gave on December 5, 1994?

In a letter of clarification (see enclosed), Fr. Gobbi discusses the meaning of the word "per" which he had originally taken to mean "during." He says:

"The preposition 'per' can give two meanings to the phrase:

1. I confirm to you that IN - DURING the Great Jubilee of the year two thousand, there will take place the Triumph of my Immaculate Heart...

2. I confirm to you that BECAUSE OF - AS A CONSEQUENCE OF - AS A FRUIT OF the Great Jubilee of the year two thousand, there will take place the Triumph Of my Immaculate Heart...

The first has a temporal meaning; the second a causal meaning.

... I believe that the authentic meaning to give to the phrase is the second one, namely that because of and as a consequence of the Great Jubilee of the year two thousand, the triumph of the Immaculate Heart will occur. Therefore, it will come to pass during the time of the Post Jubilee, as a result of the great grace of mercy that the Great Jubilee brought to the Church and to humanity." (Fr. Gobbi - January 2001)

And what a great grace of mercy did indeed occur during the Great Jubilee! In a special way I believe that this Jubilee Year DID occasion Our Lady's triumph in hearts and souls, as noted below, and this has been a definitive triumph of her personal mission which is to bring souls back to Jesus.

"The triumph will be realized through a new birth of Jesus in hearts and souls. " (cf. #89o)

At least 25 million persons passed through the Holy Doors in Rome, expressing their sincere desire to return to Jesus and to receive his mercy and forgiveness by means of the Sacraments and the indulgences.

How many more millions passed through the doors of the designated Jubilee sites - cathedrals, basilicas and churches in dioceses throughout the world.

Countless others who could not to these sites took the occasion in other ways to receive the plenary indulgences to purify themselves and to atone for their sins.

Two million young people gathered in Rome for the Jubilee event for the youth, expressing their unity with the Holy Father and their desire to experience- Jesus in their lives. This event, in and of itself, can be seen as a tremendous triumph in this day and age.

Hundreds of thousands attended the week-long Eucharistic Congress in June.

Throughout the great Jubilee Year, by means of her Pope, Our Lady brought to Rome countless members of various professions of the world, both secular and religious, to sharpen their focus on Jesus.

Our Lady's hand was clearly seen in the triumph of good over evil in many political events worldwide - in Mexico, in Yugoslavia, in the Philippines and even here in our own country.

Now, all of these things have to bear fruit, and it will take time because everything depends on our personal 'yes' - our cooperation and our acceptance of her call to conversion. Our Lady has been telling us throughout her messages that our response to her requests is helping to bring about her triumph, and that she has, in fact, been building her triumph for years. For example:

She triumphs each time we say 'yes' to her plans. She triumphs each time someone consecrates themselves to her Immaculate Heart. She triumphs when we turn our gaze to her Son Jesus. She triumphs when we live her messages. She triumphs when we gather together in cenacles of prayer. She triumphs when we love one another. She triumphs when we are little, humble, pure, chaste...

"MY motherly Heart triumphs in the hearts of those children, who, on every side, answer me b saying 'yes. They are the littlest, the humble, the poor, the unknown." (212d)

"I am the Mother and Teacher of all peoples, and the triumph of my Immaculate Heart cannot come in all its fullness, until I have brought them all to my Son Jesus." (215j)

"Meditate on my messages and live them. if you live what I have shown you and travel the road which I have traced out for you, you will walk securely along the way of the consecration which you have made to me, and you will bring to fulfillment the great plan of the Triumph of my Immaculate Heart. Otherwise you will be halted by doubts, discouragement, difficulties and the opposition which you will encounter." (297ef)

"...spread everywhere cenacles of prayer ... in this way I am bringing about each day the triumph of my Immaculate Heart." (473ij)

"In the heart of the little ones, my Immaculate Heart already achieves its triumph."(504e)

Fatima and the Jubilee Year

In his letter of clarification, Fr. Gobbi acknowledges that the prophecy can also retain its first meaning - that the triumph did occur during the great Jubilee Year. He points to three very important events which took place during the Jubilee Year and which are related to the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary:

1) The beatification of the shepherd children, Jacinta and Francisco, by the Pope in Fatima on May 13, 2000.

2) The publication of the third secret of Fatima in the month of June.

3) The solemn act of entrustment to Our Lady of Fatima which the Pope made on Sunday, October 8th, with the bishops who were present for their Jubilee, in which he consecrated the Church and humanity at the beginning of the third millennium.

In these events is seen another triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the fact that the whole Church has, in a special way, reaffirmed the importance of the message of Fatima and the consecration to Our Lady. Remember that it is at Fatima that she said, "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph." And those who are in her Heart will share in this triumph of hers.

God's Instruments

In hindsight, then, Fr. Gobbi realizes that his interpretation of Our Lady's words were not precisely what he had originally thought. There is a basic need to be mindful of the fact that, when a mystic receives messages, his or her mission is to convey that message to the world. Our Lady gave Fr. Gobbi this locution, and he dutifully wrote it down. Fr. Gobbi has told me on numerous occasions that Our Lady does not reveal everything to him, but only that which is necessary for him to accomplish his particular mission. Consequently, he cannot always give a full explanation of the interior locutions which he receives, but only his understanding of them based on the knowledge that he has of the messages. It is very important to understand that Fr. Gobbi, as with any mystic, does not have all the details, and thus he too must walk on faith and trust.

An excellent example of this is to be found in the life of Blessed Dina Belanger (Sister Marie Sainte-Cecile de Rome) of the Sisters of Jesus and Mary in Quebec. She, too, received a heavenly message which at the time was believed to be false, and it was only after her death that the realization was made that everyone, including Blessed Dina herself, had wrongfully interpreted the message which she had received from Jesus. In May of 1922, the Lord told her: "You will make profession; and a year later, on the feast of the Assumption of my Mother, I shall come and claim you by death." She understood from this that in fifteen months, she would die; August 15, 1923 came and went, and she did not undergo a physical death. It was only later that the message was understood. The Lord had meant that she would die to herself and from that day on she would be completely one with him in living in his Divine Will. She writes, "He substituted Himself for me ... My joy to know that I no longer existed was unspeakable.

Let us also consider that, at the Annunciation, when the Archangel Gabriel told Mary that she was to conceive and bear a son who would be the Son of God, Our Blessed Mother was not given any details. She asked how this would happen since she "did not know man", and the angel responded that it would be done by an overshadowing of the Holy Spirit. The young girl, Mary, must have had many questions, but SHE BELIEVED even though she did not understand. God never told her that she would have to give birth in Bethlehem, and not in her home at Nazareth. She was not told that she would have to travel when the birth was close at hand. She was not told that all the doors would be closed, and that she would have to give birth in a stable under abject conditions. She was not told that they would have to flee to Egypt in the middle of the night because King Herod would be seeking to kill her child. So you see, God does not reveal all the details of his plan to even this most accepting of his instruments - Mary.

Let us, then, follow Our Blessed Mother's lead and not ask for more information than God chooses to give us by means of his instruments. And let us keep in mind what we have been told in Scripture: "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways." (Is 55:8)

The Spiritual Dimension of the Messages Is Primary

In the second of his letters to the National Directors this year, Fr. Gobbi tells us,

"First of all, I invite you to read the book not only in a superficial way... but to live what the book says, if we want our lives to be transformed by Our Lady's maternal action in us. (Fr. Gobbi, January 2001)

We need, then, to maintain our focus on the spiritual dimension of the messages. The inner locutions of Fr. Gobbi are an extension of the Fatima message, and are intended to help us find and walk the path of devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. They serve as a spiritual compass to orient us amidst all the evil, and to help us to understand and prepare for the events to come. Thus seen as a guide to spiritual transformation, the messages to Fr. Gobbi should NOT be interpreted as a timetable for future events. In other words, their prophetical dimension should not be seen as their primary focus.

From a prophetical standpoint, however, it was impossible for the ultimate triumph to occur by the end of the Jubilee Year since there are too many events which have yet to happen. The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary - the individual accomplishment of the mission given her by God - is intertwined with the occurrence of other events. Hence, her triumph will "come to pass" with these other events, preparing the way for the return of Jesus in glory. All of these will happen concurrently, but not independently of the others. In other words, they will coincide and their individual actions will culminate with the universal triumph - the return of Jesus in glory and the Eucharistic reign.

The Events of the Purification

What I am about to describe is by no means an all encompassing picture of future events, but merely a preview of what we are to expect before the return of Jesus.

Purification and Chastisement:

Before the universal triumph can occur, all of creation must be purified. It must be emptied of the impurities with which it has been infected by sin. The means by which nature (creation) will be purified is through natural convulsions (catastrophes). Our Lady calls it "the chastisement" - nature rebelling and spewing out the evil caused by Satan, original sin and humanity's sinful activity. This contamination of sin which has infected all of nature must be purged before it can be healed and transformed into an earthly paradise: God bringing nature back to its original state. The chastisement will necessarily inflict much suffering upon humanity, but the Holy Spirit will use these sufferings to sanctify it. Satan, on the other hand, will use them to try to lead man to curse God.

Purification of the Church:

Jesus uses the Church which He has founded as a means to extend his mercy, his forgiveness and his graces. The Church, like her Founder, is composed of two natures: human and divine. Its divine nature will never be destroyed; the gates of Hell will never prevail against it, much the same as the Divinity of Jesus was left unscathed in the aftermath of his passion and death. The human nature of the Church (its human organization), however, has become infected by our sinfulness. Examples of this are diminishing faith; a lack of belief in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist; an irreverential attitude towards the House of God; liturgical rituals being carried out routinely and "without heart"; sacrilegious Masses and communions; abuses in the liturgy, etc.).

The impurities must be purged, and that part of the Church's human element which is corrupt must die before it can once again become more resplendent than ever.

"But who can endure the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap; he will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, till they present right offerings to the Lord. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem [the Church and the people of God] will be pleasing to the Lord as in the days of old and as in former years. (Mal 3:2-4)

The process of dying naturally brings about suffering, and once again these sufferings will be used by the Holy Spirit to sanctify and purify the Church and its human nature, whereas Satan will use them to try to destroy people's faith.

In the end, when all this evil will have been purged, Jesus will renew the Church and will raise it to its glorious state. The Scriptures describe this as the "New Jerusalem coming down from Heaven, beautiful as a bride" (cf Rev. 21:2) "without spot or wrinkle." (Eph 21:27) But first, the Church must die in its human nature in imitation of Jesus, only to be in the end raised, renewed and sanctified.

The Second Pentecost:

Purification and Sanctification

Our Lady says that the Holy Spirit will purify the world, the. Church and humanity through the power of fire and blood:

"By the fire of the Spirit of Love, the work of the great purification will be quickly accomplished. The Church groans as it awaits his merciful work of purification.

Through the power of fire and of blood, the whole world will also be renewed. Humanity will return once again to the glorification of the Father, through Jesus, who will at last have established his reign in your midst.

This is, then, the hour of the Holy Spirit. He will come to you in all his fullness, by means of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, his most beloved Spouse." (246cgh)

Once the Holy Spirit will have purified and sanctified everything, He will have accomplished his particular mission, and the Church and all of humanity will be ready to receive Jesus.

Purification by Means of Satan:

The Antichrist, the Man of Iniquity and Their Agents

Their role is to test humanity and to [try to] force it to take a stance against God, causing the separation of the good from the evil. They will attempt not only to pull people away from God, but also to have them curse Him. Among the tools which they will use are: division, hatred, violence, confusion, seduction, persecution, sufferings, etc. Wars will erupt which will cause political, social and economic systems to collapse, bringing humanity to the threshold of self destruction. The man of iniquity will establish himself within the Church and will raise a false God and a false Church for people to worship, which will culminate in the supreme abomination of desolation. The good will be purified by the sufferings which will result, and just when Satan thinks himself the sure victor, Our Lady will "snatch the prey from his hands."

"In fact at the very moment when Satan will be enthroned as lord of the world and will think himself now the sure victor, I myself will snatch the prey from his hands. In a trice he will find himself empty-handed, and in the end the victory will be exclusively my Son's and mine. This will be the triumph of my Immaculate Heart in the world." (29g)

She will turn this apparent triumph of Satan into his severe condemnation, at which time he will be bound in hell for a long period of time until the very end of the world, just preceding the final judgment.

"Over this Church, which seems about to sink, Satan desires to dominate as the decisive victor. I shall strike him to the heart by turning his own victory to the cause of the triumph of my Immaculate Heart.

I shall avail myself of the darkness which he has spread everywhere, to choose the souls of the littlest o my sons, and I shall give them my own light.

Thus everyone will be led by this very obscurity to seek salvation in the light which issues from MY Immaculate Heart. And all the triumph of MY Adversary will have only served to help many souls to take refuge in my motherly Heart.

I will call upon my priests to give witness to their faith, even to the point of heroism. By their example they will help the souls of many of my poor wandering children to return to the path of fidelity.

I will bring my beloved sons to great holiness so that, through them, reparation. may again be made for all the sins of the world. And thus it will be still possible to save many of my lost children. This is why Satan has now such great fear of me!

But I have now moved into action with the cohort of my little children. Nothing will be able to stop me until my victory is complete in every detail. Thus, at the very moment when everything will seem lost, Providence will bring about the triumph of my Immaculate Heart in the world." (127n-t)

After the Purification -

The New Heavens and the New Earth

Hundreds of years before the birth of Jesus, Isaiah prophesied about this kingdom that has its seminal beginnings with the redemption and which will achieve full growth with the return of Jesus.

"Lo, I am about to create new heavens and a new earth ... There shall always be rejoicing and happiness in what I create ... no longer shall the sound of weeping be heard or the sound of crying."(Is 65)

"There shall be no harm or ruin on my holy mountain, for the earth shall be filled with knowledge of the Lord, as water covers the sea."(Is 11)

Zephaniah spoke of a "restored" kingdom in which the remnant will reside:

"But I will leave as a remnant in your midst a people humble and lowly, who shall take refuge in the name of the Lord ... They shall do no wrong and speak no lies ... I will remove disaster from among you ... I will save the lame, and assemble the outcasts ... I will bring you home, and at that time I will gather you for I will give you renown and praise among all the people of the earth when I bring about your restoration before your very eyes, says the Lord. " (Zep 3:12-13,18-20)

However, this purification of all of creation, humanity and the Church cannot be achieved without our cooperation.

Our Personal Collaboration

The only way in which we can prepare ourselves to receive Jesus when He returns is by means of our prayers and sufferings, and we need to look at these trials as a means of purification.

"Now I ask of you also, my beloved children, prayer and suffering, as your personal collaboration in preparing a fitting dwelling place for Jesus who is about to return in glory. Understand the meaning of my motherly interventions, which today have become more frequent, extraordinary, and urgent. On this holy night, my message, which I give you as heavenly prophetess of the last times, appears clearer to you.

Prepare yourselves for the second birth of Jesus in glory.- He is about to come to reign in your midst. The ways by which He will come are those of prayer and suffering. Already these are the times in which you must all recollect yourselves in a continuous and trusting prayer, as was mine during the long journey made to Bethlehem.

And suffer with patience and with trust. As for me, so also for you, the sufferings which the Lord asks of you form part of a loving plan of his. The pangs must increase for everyone, the closer his new birth approaches. Accept them just as your heavenly Mother did. Walk in the light of the star, which tells you that the time has already come in which the prophetic announcements that have already been given you during these years are coming to pass. And live each hour of your life in the greatest trust and in the joyous expectation of the glorious return of my Son Jesus." (300 f-h, 1-m)

Conclusion

I hope that I have helped you to realize all that is involved in God's plan. How, then, could we have thought that the end of the Jubilee Year would bring about the fulfillment of this entire plan? The completion of God's design is necessary to bring about what will be the final, universal and all-encompassing Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. When all of the events of the purification will have occurred, then Jesus will return and we will behold a world and a Church that have been liberated from all stain of sin and its poisonous effects.

"... then all the Church will become my garden, in which the Divine Trinity will take delight in being reflected.

The Father will rejoice to see the design of his creation perfectly realized in it. The Son will dwell with you, into whose midst the reign of the Father has already come. The Holy Spirit will be Life Itself, in a world reconsecrated to the glory of God.

This will be the triumph of my Immaculate Heart. (133 lmn)

In God's eyes, ALL of this has already taken place since He lives in eternity and for him there is no time; however, we who are living in time must still live through all of the events. But we can take consolation in knowing that, even though we have to wait for all of these things to happen, we have the assurance that the victory has already been won.

Our Lady's messages to Fr. Gobbi reveal to us the state of the Church and of the world. How many of us, without having read the messages, would have been aware of the labor pains which the Church must undergo before its rebirth? How many have left the Church and the priesthood because they lacked the understanding that the Church must live through the same passion and death of Jesus before it can rise from the ashes?

The messages have been given to us so that we may know the difficulties we are to live through and not lose courage. They have given us hope in the darkness, because we have seen the light at the end of the tunnel. Prophecies are always difficult to interpret and understand, and will only be understood completely once they are lived out. Some of you did understand that the triumph that came to pass during this Jubilee Year was an interior one, and you assured us of your belief in the authenticity of the messages. You have been of much consolation to us.

For some of you, the interpretation and explanation of the Triumph which we offer you will not be satisfactory.(*1) Ultimately, you are free to believe or not to believe. As for myself, I believe in the authenticity of Fr. Gobbi's messages and have no doubt that the Blessed Mother is speaking to us.

As a final note, I wish to add that, since we have received so many phone calls, letters and emails concerning the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, it will be impossible to answer each one individually. With this statement, I have tried to address all of your questions and concerns. I have done my part in sharing these thoughts with you. I wish that I had what it takes to convince all of you of what I know in my heart to be true, but I must abandon myself to God's will and know that it is part of the purification that the Marian Movement of Priests must undergo. She is testing her chosen ones and some will be swayed by other opinions. Knowing that this is all part of her plan, I go forward with a firm trust in the messages and in the unshakable belief that she is the leader of this Movement and that no one will be able to destroy it. She says:

"It is my work, because I myself am accomplishing it and spreading it in a silent and hidden way.

Satan and all the diabolic spirits are able to do nothing against it.

The Lord has prohibited them from harming it. The powers of evil, the dark forces of satanism, and the secret rulers of Masonry can do nothing against it, because it is protected, preserved and defended by me.

It is my work, which I am carrying out in every part of the world in order to conquer Satan, in the great battle against all the wicked spirits, because in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph. " (497fgh)

"Blessed are you for your firm believing that the promises of the Lord [will] be fulfilled." (Lk 1:45)
